WISH LESS galleryでは、グラフィックアーティスト・KID ROSEの初個展を開催いたします。
本展「全开」は、あらかじめ完成形を目指して制作された作品を展示するのではなく、目的を定めずに制作する「過程」そのものを作品として提示する試みです。
タイトルの「全开」は、KID ROSEのアイデンティティの根底にある「葛飾」にまつわる、影と滑稽さが入り混じる個人的なエピソードに由来しています。
デザイナーとして活動するKID ROSEは、日本語、とりわけ漢字が、象形文字を起点として発展し、事物のイメージが変化と蓄積を重ねながら文字へと形成されてきた、その過程に関心を寄せています。彼にとって、完成された文字そのものよりも、文字が形成されるプロセスこそが重要なのです。
一方で、SNSをはじめとする現代のメディア環境では、あらゆる情報や表現が同じ画面上にフラットに並べられ、完成されたイメージは消費可能な記号として流通していきます。
本展では、「葛飾」という自身のアイデンティティをフィルターに、日本語の文字が形成されるプロセスと現代のメディア環境を重ね合わせながら、形づくられていく過程そのものを作品として提示します。
「全开」とは、完成ではなく、開かれたまま変化し続ける状態を成立させる展覧会です。
最近では、渋谷PARCOで開催された「PARCO GAME CENTER」のアートディレクションを手掛けたり、EDWIN EUROPEとコラボするなど、常に話題の絶えない注目の作家です。ぜひご高覧ください。

2000年生まれ。東京都葛飾区出身のグラフィック士。
2024年、桑沢デザイン研究所を卒業後、独立。
現在はグラフィックを中心とした表現を基軸に、空間デザインにも領域を広げている。

WISH LESS gallery is thrilled to announce Japanese graphic artist KID ROSE’s first solo exhibition, Fully Open.
Rather than exhibiting works created toward a predetermined finished form, Fully Open is an attempt to present the very process of making―creating without a fixed destination―as the artwork itself.
The exhibition title, Fully Open, originates from a personal episode connected to Katsushika, the district at the core of KID ROSE’s identity, where shadows and humor intertwine.
Working as a designer, KID ROSE has developed a strong interest in the way the Japanese writing system―particularly kanji―has evolved from pictographic origins, with images gradually transforming and accumulating into written characters. To him, what matters is not the completed character itself, but the process through which it takes shape.
At the same time, he is interested in today’s media environment, where social media flattens all forms of information and expression onto the same screen, reducing completed images to consumable symbols.
Through the filter of his own identity, rooted in Katsushika, this exhibition brings together the formative process of Japanese writing and the contemporary media landscape, presenting the act of becoming itself as the artwork.
Fully Open is an exhibition that embraces an open, ever-changing state rather than a finished conclusion. We warmly invite you to visit.

Tokyo-based graphic artist, born in 2000 in Katsushika, Tokyo.
After graduating from Kuwasawa Design School in 2024, KID ROSE has been working independently, expanding the practice from graphic design into spatial design.
