WISH LESS galleryでは、英国出身、スコットランドを拠点に活動するアーティスト、レイチェル・ルイーズ・ホッジソンの日本初個展「Lost her doll head」を開催いたします。
本展は、ペインティングやドローイングのほか、陶芸作品やファッションアイテムなど、型にはまらない作風によって生み出された、奇抜で荒々しいレイチェルの魅力を存分に伝える展覧会です。
ハサミやリボン、人形、血、さらに小便や涙などといった要素を絶え間なく登場させることによって、彼女特有のキュートで不気味な世界を作り上げます。アートを通して、レイチェルが内に秘めた情熱を鑑賞者に届けるのと同時に、描かれるシュールで色鮮やかな作品群が観る側に笑みと混乱を与えることを狙いとしています。
個展に合わせて、レイチェルが来日し、オープニングレセプションに参加いたします。さらにレイチェルとWISH LESSのコラボレーションTシャツを数量限定でご紹介いたします。
［ プロフィール ］
レイチェル・ルイーズ・ホッジソン
英国出身のマルチアーティスト。現在はグラスゴー在住。ロンドン・カレッジ・オブ・ファッションにてファッション・フォトグラフィーを学ぶ。2018年ドローイング・イヤー・スカラシップを修了後、チャールズ皇太子が設立したチャリティ団体「ロイヤル・ドローイング・スクール」を卒業。ロンドンをはじめ各国の展覧会に参加し、作品を発表。奇想天外でアクの強い作風で熱狂的なファンを魅了している。
ASOS、コンバース、Les girls Les boys、ace & tateなど著名ブランドとコラボし、雑誌のイラストレーションも多く手がける。本展が日本初個展である。

WISH LESS is delighted to announce Scotland based artist Rachel Louise Hodgson’s first solo exhibition in Japan, titled ‘Lost her doll head.’
Working across multiple mediums, she will be exhibiting in the flesh her strange, raw and personal drawings, paintings, ceramics and fashion. Through the relentless reimagining of scissors, bows, dolls, blood, piss and tears; she conjures a cute and creepy world. Rachel invites everyone into her innermost feelings through the art, with her surreal and colourful imagery, she hopes to both amuse and disturb the audience.
We will be collaborating with Rachel to produce a limited edition long sleeved T-shirt for the exhibition. Rachel will be travelling to Tokyo for the exhibition and will be at the opening reception.
［ PROFILE ］
Rachel Louise Hodgson is a multidisciplinary artist and alumni of The Royal Drawing School since completing the Drawing Year scholarship in 2018. Currently living and working in Glasgow, Rachel has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions in London and sells her work internationally. Previously studying a fashion photography BA at London College of Fashion, she has worked as a freelance creative for many brands over the years including ASOS, Les girls Les boys, ace & tate and converse.
