WISH LESS galleryでは、独特の色彩を用いて人物や動物を描く注目の若手ペインター・櫻井万里明の個展を開催いたします。櫻井は、ギザギザしたジャギーを強調したアウトラインが印象的な作風で知られ、映画やアニメーション、漫画などのサブカルチャー的要素を巧みに取り入れた中毒性の高い作品を日々生み出しています。
家族という解釈が広く、寛容になってきた。
関係性、性別、国、距離感、年齢。
一緒にいて気持ちよかったら良い。
なんか距離感があっている。
ずっとくっついていたい。
どこかで無意識に思い出しちゃうんよね。
家族という言葉に縛られるのは違うけど、
でも気づいたら一緒にいる関係っていいよね。
そういう存在がいるということだけでとても尊いことだ。
プロフイール
櫻井万里明
1996年生まれ、多摩美術大学卒業。
2020年よりアーティストとしての活動をスタートし、
現在は作品制作を中心にアパレルブランドとのコラボや個展、壁画制作など活動の場は多岐にわたる。
2021年よりクリエイティブアソシエーションCEKAIに所属。
主なアートワークスに、WEGO、BEAMS、NIKEなど

WISH LESS gallery is thrilled to announce the solo exhibition of Maria Sakurai, a talented young Japanese artist whose paintings of people and animals are executed using a unique colour palette.
Sakurai is known for her unmistakable jagged style of outline that makes her characters buzz and vibrate with a distinct energy.
She has an incredibly prolific output, producing visually addictive works that skillfully incorporate elements of subculture, such as movies, animations, and manga.
The interpretation of family has become more open-minded,
regarding relationship, gender, country, distance and age.
It feels good to be with you.
There is the right amount of space between us.
I want to stick with you forever.
You are always in my subconscious mind.
It’s different from being bound or controlled by the concept of family, it’s nice to be with you naturally.
It is very precious to have someone like you.
PROFILE
Maria Sakurai
Born in 1996, graduated from Tama Art University.
She has been a full time artist since 2020 and is currently involved in a wide variety of activities, including collaborations with apparel brands, solo exhibitions, and mural painting.
In 2021 she joined the Creative Association CEKAI.
Major collaborations include WEGO, BEAMS, NIKE, etc.
