WISH LESS galleryでは、コラージュアーティスト、野島渓の2度目の個展を開催いたします。相変わらず家に篭ってひたすら制作を続ける野島の作品は、不穏な現状と反して、より洗練され、エレガントな風格さえ感じさせます。直感的に異素材を組み合わせ、まるで音楽をサンプリングする感覚で作品を構成していく野島の最新作にぜひご期待ください。
STATEMENT
今でもそうかもしれないがかなりの時間を家で過ごすようになり、インプットからアウトプットまで基本的に毎日家で行い出来た作品を中心に今回の個展で出す。この家からほとんど出ない日常に入ってから変わったことは制作した作品に完成した日付を入れるようになったことであり、この日付などの時間を作品に付ける事で代わり映えしない日常が少しずつだが動くのを実感出来るためである。ちなみに今回の展示のタイトルは制作時に良く流しているThe Sea And Cakeのアルバム「One Bedroom」から拝借した。

野島渓／Kei Nojima
1993年東京都出身
主にコラージュの画像と画像のズレによるグルーヴ感やサンプリング性などの音楽性をテーマにコラージュ作品を制作。
国内での個展開催やグループ展参加の他、アパレルブランドやLUMINEのショウウィンドウ、CDジャケットのアートワーク提供なども活躍の場は広がっている。

WISH LESS is thrilled to announce the second solo exhibition by collage artist Kei Nojima.
Nojima’s prolific output continues from his home studio during these challenging times, reaching new levels of sophistication and elegance.
Please join us to enjoy his new work, in which he intuitively combines different materials to compose pieces as if sampling music.
STATEMENT
During these recent troubled times, I’ve been spending a lot of time at home, and this solo exhibition will focus on the work that I’ve produced on a daily basis in my home studio.
What has changed since I entered this period of social isolation is that I started to record the date and time of completion of every piece of work I make.
This process has helped me to cope with daily life during the pandemic and I sense things improve little by little as a result of feeling and recording the movement of time.
Incidentally, the title of this exhibition was borrowed from The Sea And Cake’s album “One Bedroom”, which is a studio favourite of mine.

Kei Nojima
Born in Tokyo in 1993
His output is mainly collage based works with the theme of musicality, aiming to create the feeling of a visual groove through image sampling and painting.
In addition to holding solo and group exhibitions in Japan, he also provides artwork for apparel brands, installations, interior design, department store show windows for LUMINE and CD jackets.
