WISH LESS galleryでは、台湾出身のアーティスト・李漢強による個展「チラシはわたし」を開催いたします。
李は身近なスーパーマーケットのチラシやレンタルDVD、CDシングルなどを手作業によって忠実に再現する作家です。本展では、新たな表現方法で復活させた李の代表的作品「スーパーマーケットのチラシ」シリーズを展示いたします。Supreme 2022年春夏コレクションでは、チラシ作品が大々的に起用され世界的に話題となった李が、4mを超える紙のドローイングを中心に新作群を発表いたします。
日々印刷され、膨大な情報をあふれさせるチラシは、現代社会の縮図だと李は捉えます。イメージが絶え間なく配信されては消え、何の価値も持たなくなってしまう情報社会に対して鋭い視線を投げかけ、チラシという媒体を通して、消費と記憶との関係性を私たちに問いかけます。
ただ消耗されるだけのチラシに散らばる無数の情報をすくい取る、という膨大な時間を要する積み重ねは、李の手によって記憶の層と成り、価値のあるものへと受け継がれるのです。

李漢強／LEE KAN KYO
台湾・台北市生まれ。2012年に東京造形大学大学院造形専攻を修了後、東京を拠点に制作活動を続けている。現代消費社会における日常のメディア断片を題材に、それらの形態や意味を精緻な手作りで再考し、急速な消費サイクルに覆い隠された異様さや記憶の断層を掘り起こす。スーパーマーケットのチラシ、週刊誌、CDなどの素材を用い、それら大量生産されたイメージを再構成することで、個人的記憶と集団的消費のあいだに潜む緊張関係を浮かび上がらせている。長期的に取り組む「スーパーマーケットのチラシ」や「juicebox selfie」「最後のCDプロジェクト」などを通じ、大量生産と日常の質感に潜む見過ごされてきた側面を批評的に探求している。2014年には《ドリーム・あの子（Don’t_stop）》で日本の「1_WALL」グラフィック部門グランプリを受賞し、2022年には GQ Taiwan MOTY Artist of the Year に選出された。国内外の展覧会に多数参加し、Supreme や Netflix《WAVE MAKERS-選挙の人々》など多くのブランドとのコラボレーション実績がある。

WISH LESS gallery is thrilled to announce the Taiwanese artist LEE KAN KYO’s solo exhibition ‘Flyer, Me’.
LEE KAN KYO is an artist who meticulously recreates everyday items such as supermarket flyers, rental DVDs, and CD singles by hand. This exhibition presents LEE’s signature “Supermarket Flyer” series, revived through new expressive methods. Having gained global attention when his flyer works were prominently featured in Supreme’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection, LEE unveils a new body of work centred around paper drawings exceeding 4 metres in length.
LEE perceives flyers – printed daily and overflowing with information – as a microcosm of contemporary society. He casts a sharp gaze upon our information society, where images are incessantly delivered and then vanish, losing all value. Through the medium of the flyer, he prompts us to question the relationship between consumption and memory.
The immense, time-consuming accumulation of the countless pieces of information scattered across flyers destined only to be discarded becomes, through LEE’s hands, a layer of memory, passed on as something of value.

LEE KAN KYO
Born in Taipei, Taiwan, LEE KAN KYO has been based in Tokyo since completing his Master’s degree in Design at Tokyo Zokei University in 2012. His practice centers on fragments of everyday media from contemporary consumer society, meticulously reconstructing them through handcrafted processes to reexamine their forms and meanings, uncovering the subtle sense of strangeness and layers of memory hidden beneath rapid cycles of consumption. Drawing from materials such as supermarket flyers, weekly magazines, and CD packaging, he reconstructs these mass-produced images to reveal the overlooked tensions between personal memory and collective consumption. Through long-term projects such as the Supermarket Flyer Series, juicebox selfie, and the LEE Disc Project, his work critically explores the overlooked textures of mass production and everyday life. In 2014, his project “Dream anoko（Don’t stop）”received the “1_WALL” Graphic Art Award in Japan, and he was named Artist of the Year at GQ Taiwan MOTY 2022. He has created artwork for Supreme, Kikuchi Naruyoshi Q/N/K, KIRIN Taiwan, Quaker, Netflix Wave Makers, UNIQLO, WIND AND SEA, RhinoShield, among others.
